Bassekou Kouyate & Fatoumata Diawara @ Africa Express, London, in September 2012

Made up of off-cuts — news, reviews, previews and a smattering of opinion — from a few freelance music writers, Culture Capital Blog covers London’s classical, jazz, world and folk music scenes. We aim to shine a sporadic spotlight on local gigs and events, especially those not always covered by traditional media.

The contributors to these pages have written for (in no particular order): London Evening Standard, Oxford Journal, The Strad, GramophoneSonglines, Classical Music magazineIndependent, International PianoEarly Music Today, Muso, Jazzwise website, LondonJazz, The Arts Desk and Londonist.

If you’d like a gig or album reviewed (for that, the artist needs to have a date upcoming in London), or if you have any other thoughts about the blog, get in touch on Twitter (@culture-capital or post in the Comments below.

Tim – I’d be very grateful if you would come and review my upcoming Rare Bach concert at Kings Place on 24th March 11.30am (Sunday morning) Here are the details:
